National Competitiveness Committee Studies Ways of Upgrading Oman Ranking in International Indices

Muscat, 8 Nov (ONA) – The National Competitiveness Committee today held its third meeting of the year under the chairmanship of Dr. Said Mohammed Al Saqri, Minister of Economy.
The meeting, attended by representatives of the public and private sectors, discussed means of cementing cooperation with parties concerned in Oman and abroad with a view to raising the Sultanate of Oman’s ranking in international competitiveness indices and reports.
The topics of the agenda covered the discussion of the international competitiveness book, the international federation of competitiveness boards and the Global Competitiveness Report.
The meeting also reviewed the National Competitiveness Office’s guidebook and its mechanism of integrating with the departments concerned with Oman and abroad. The overall objective is to promote Oman’s status in global competitiveness indices and reports through improvement proposals, notably those listed in Oman Vision 2040 due to their significance in developing government services.
