Marhaba Oman Event for Tourism Sector Partners Kicks off

Muscat, 12 Dec (ONA) — “Marhaba Oman” event kicked off today under the patronage of Maitha Saif Al Mahrouqi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism for Tourism at Kempinski Hotel Muscat.

The two-day event, organized by the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism, brings together a number of tourism sector partners in the Sultanate of Oman and their counterparts in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA).

Al Mahrouqi said that the event comes to open wider horizons and benefit from the strong ties binding Oman and KSA on various fields.

She further added that the event comes as a culmination of the visit of HRH Prince Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud, KSA Crown Prince and the opening of the direct road, Empty Quarter, which will reflect positively on the growth of the direct intra-tourist movement between the two countries.

The event aims to attract major tourism companies in the Saudi market and create channels for communication to enhance areas of cooperation in the tourism sector, besides highlighting the national tourism strategy 2040

It also aims to spotlight Oman’s efforts in boosting the tourism sector and introducing various tourism products and services, as well as enhancing relations between the Omani tourism institutions and their counterparts in the Saudi market.

The event includes panel discussions and B2B meetings between the Omani and Saudi tourism companies to exchange expertise in tourism sector.

The event also includes visit programs to the most prominent tourist sites and landmarks in the Sultanate of Oman to familiarize the Saudi tourism companies with the potentials and capabilities of the tourism sector.
