Muscat, 15 Sep (ONA) — Al Roya newspaper today organized the 10^th edition its Economic Forum under the theme “National Industries Drive Economic Recovery”. An elite of experts and specialists of industry and innovation from within and outside the Sultanate took part in the forum.

The forum was opened under the auspices of HH Sayyid Ad’ham Turki al-Said who pointed out that the focus of the forum on converting industries sector comes due to the sector’s role in economic recovery. This sector, he said, requires more stimulation to play a competitive role during the upcoming period.

The first topic of the forum themed “Paths of Recovery from the Pandemic: National Industries Come First,” addressed the future of industrial sector in light of national priorities, industrial innovation and accelerators of the sector’s growth. The second topic titled “Industrial Empowerment: Diversification and Sustainability” included panel discussion.

A Working paper was presented during the forum from Saudi Arabia under the theme “Recovery of National Economy and Upcoming Stage: Saudi Arabia a Model”. The paper highlighted how Saudi Arabia dealt with Covid-19 pandemic and the strategies it developed. These strategies focused on four basic elements namely flexibility, response, recovery and re-innovation.
